To my knowledge they all start off "quiet" in the ancient era and build up to the full sound. Atomic era is the full orchestra, brass and also has some synthesized drum beats hidden under the melody. Industrial era changes the instrumentation incorporating in brass, woodwinds and a full orchestra. Medieval era the playing picks up pace and you can hear extra fiddles chiming in at parts.
